Porcelain Veneers Can Change Your Entire Life

Porcelain veneers are more affordable than ever before. Dr. David Schaefer recommends porcelain veneers if you have teeth that are chipped, cracked or worn. If you have a space between your teeth or teeth that are tipped or rotated, porcelain veneers could be a good fit for you, your smile, and your confidence.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that are bonded to the fronts of your teeth. Because a small amount of enamel needs to be removed for natural fitting veneers, the cosmetic dental procedure is permanent.

Cosmetic veneers are made from dental grade porcelain and mimic light just as your natural teeth do.

Porcelain Veneers Placement

If Dr. Schaefer believes that you are a good fit for porcelain veneers, you will need three dental appointments.

During your first porcelain veneers appointment, a portion of the enamel will be removed. Once removed, a mold or impression will be sent to the lab for manufacture. If your teeth are not ready for public consumption, a temporary set of veneers may be fitted until your permanent cosmetic veneers are ready.

After a couple of weeks, you will return to Dr. Schaefer’s office for permanent placement. The veneers will be checked for fit and color, and once your dentist is satisfied, will be bonded into place. After placement, the bonding will be cured with a laser or light.

Once the veneers have been bonded, they will be polished to perfection.

Dr. Schaefer recommends a third dental appointment to check your new veneers for placement and bite.

Cosmetic dentistry can change your life. A beautiful smile not only gives you more confidence, but can also improve your overall health.

Porcelain Veneers or Cosmetic Dental Bonding

Porcelain Veneers and dental bonding are two cosmetic dental procedures offered by Dr. David Schaefer; however, unless you are a dentist yourself, you probably don’t know which procedure would be best for you. Thankfully, Dr. Schaffer does.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain Veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that are custom made to fit over the top of your teeth. Because a portion of the tooth needs to be removed to allow for the dental veneer, porcelain veneers are permanent, and depending on how unsightly your teeth are after the enamel removal, may require temporary veneers while your permanent porcelain veneers are being made.

Porcelain veneers can last a decade or more if you practice good oral hygiene. Veneers look just like natural teeth and can give you a beautiful smile.

You may be a good fit for porcelain veneers if you have chipped, cracked, or misshaped teeth or if you have stained teeth that cannot be brightened with professional tooth whitening.

What is Cosmetic Dental Bonding?

Cosmetic Dental Bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure that can be completed in a single dental appointment and unlike porcelain veneers does not require removal of the enamel.

Dental bonding is used for chips and cracks, and for teeth that are too long or too short. Dental bonding is also used to cover stains.

During your cosmetic dental bonding appointment, Dr Schaefer will prepare the tooth or teeth that are to be bonded. He will roughen up the tooth before coating with a liquid that will allow the cosmetic dental resin to bond to the tooth. Dr. Schaefer will mold the materials for a natural look before using a laser or light to permanently bond the material to your teeth. Once the tooth or teeth have been bonded, Dr. Schaefer will polish and buff.

Cosmetic Dental Bonding can last for years as long as you brush and floss, and see your dentist regularly, however, it may need to be touched up from time to time.

Cosmetic Dental Bonding is more affordable than porcelain veneers, however, it really is up to you, and your dentist to decide what procedure is best for your needs.

Porcelain Veneers for a New Smile

Porcelain Veneers could be the answer if you are tired of spending hundreds of dollars on over the counter tooth whitening products that aren’t doing what was promised.

People all over the globe are spending millions of dollars every year trying to whiten teeth that cannot be whitened with non-prescription and professional tooth whitening products. However, the bottom line is that not all teeth can be whitened and need to be restored using other restorative or cosmetic procedures.

Tooth whitening works great if you have exterior stains from tobacco, red wine, tea, coffee or age. However, if you have stains on previously restored teeth or stains on the inside of your teeth, you may want to consider porcelain veneers.

Porcelain veneers are the perfect option if you have chipped or crooked teeth. If you want to fill that gap between your front teeth or unhappy with your eye teeth, talk to Dr. Schaefer about porcelain veneers to give you the smile that you deserve.

What are Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that your dentist will custom create to cover your damaged or stained teeth. Porcelain veneers are permanent and do require some removal of your natural enamel to make way for the veneer for a natural looking fit.

Before Dr. Schaefer determines your candidacy for cosmetic veneers, he will check your teeth and gums to make sure that you are free from gum disease and/or tooth decay. If you are given the all clear, molds or impressions will be made so that your porcelain veneers will be an exact fit.

Once your veneers are ready, they will be permanently bonded to your teeth before polishing to match the rest of your teeth.

If you are tired of your smile and would like more information regarding porcelain veneers or any other cosmetic dental procedure, call or click and schedule a no obligation consultation with Schaefer Dental today.
